Door-to-door dog adventures
Dog adventures in Darwen
Darwen dogs live between India Mill's chimney and the tower on the moor, and most of them have never been up to the tower. The wooded clough climbs straight out of the town onto the moor — the moor Darwen won back for walkers in 1896, with the Jubilee Tower on top to prove it — and from Wednesday 9 September a big yellow bus collects door-to-door across BB3, from Darwen town, Whitehall and Earcroft to Hoddlesden, Eccleshill, Lower Darwen and Tockholes.
It isn't a quick lead-walk round the park at the end of the road. An adventure is a whole afternoon: a group capped at twelve, six dogs to each qualified walker, matched by temperament before anyone's first trip — leads on near the sheep, proper sniffing everywhere else. No crates on the bus; every dog rides harnessed in a pup pod with a window seat, and you watch the route on a live map from your door and back to it.
Blackburn & Darwen runs Wednesday afternoons every week — collected after 12:30, home by half three — with more days opened as routes fill. Some Wednesdays the bus heads the other way entirely — forest, reservoir or the big country park on the Blackburn side. Photos land in your dashboard the same evening, with a short honest note on how your dog got on.

Where Darwen dogs go
Real adventures, not laps of the block
Fell day
Open tops and big weather, for the dogs that need to really stretch.
Beach day
Sand to tear up at low tide, and a tide line full of smells.
Forest day
Quiet mid-week paths, soft ground and shade — easier on older joints.
Secure field day
Fenced the whole way round, for the dogs who need the space to themselves.
One of four kinds of day — a fell day, a beach day, a forest day or a secure field day. We pick the spot the night before, once we've seen the weather, the ground and which dogs are on board. Your dog is out for at least 3 hours, including their walk. See the calendar.

BB3
Door-to-door across the whole of BB3 — Darwen town, Whitehall, Earcroft, Hoddlesden, Eccleshill, Lower Darwen and Tockholes. Blackburn's BB1 and BB2 ride the same bus. Edgworth and Belmont (BL7) ride with Bolton & Horwich instead; the postcode checker on the booking page gives a straight answer for your street.
